This is a super handbag in excellent condition from Mappin & Webb, made in England. It is in a rich caramel/tan lizard skin which is in excellent condition with little wear to the outside and no drying out, splitting or cracking of the lizard skin. The attractive gilt barrell shaped clasp is a popular feature of these handbags and still in great condition with just the hint of discolouration from age. The side gussets and frame are covered in a paler creamy lizard skin which is a nice detail. The handle is firm and strong with just a few creases as the lizard skin is quite soft and it's semi rigid rather than rigid. The inside is in excellent virtually pristine condition, clean with no marks, stains or evidence of use. There is a zipped pocket in good working order and a slip pocket. The Mappin & Webb label is attached above the zipped pocket.
