This is another beautiful classic lizard skin handbag from sought after Royal warrant holders, Mappin & Webb. This is in a rich chestnut, deeper than the tan version but lighter than many of the browns that this design was made in. It is in excellent condition with no bashed corners or wear to the skins at all. The attractive and unusual gilt clasp is in excellent condition. The rest of the frame is covered in lizard skin. A particular feature of this handbag is the distinct pattern of scales which show up more clearly and distinctly than some other lizard bags. The lining of the handbag is in suede which is clean, a slight smudge to one of the pockets, noticeable on close inspection, please see the photo of the lining. The only minor issue with this handbag is the handle which has had a tiny repair where the skins join at the top. It is cosmetic and barely noticeable and does not affect the use of the bag but is mentioned for completeness.
