This is a fabulous green lizard skin Mappin & Webb handbag which is very rare green colour and in mint condition, it exudes an aura of class and understated elegance. These were sold by Mappin and Webb between the 40's and the early 70's. The handbag has obviously been hardly used, if at all. The lizard skin is in excellent condition, the handle looks unused, the top bar is covered in unmarked lizard skin and the attractive gilt clasp, a design often found on this style of Mappin and Webb handbag, is still shiny with no abrasions or tarnish. The base is similarly in unmarked condition. The condition of the inside of the handbag doesn't disappoint either. It is lined in the softest pale suede, which is absolutely beautiful and quite unmarked. There is a zipped pocket and small slip pocket on one side and a large slip pocket on the other. The Mappin and Webb leather label is affixed above the zipped pocket.
