This is a rich brown lizard skin handbag, in excellent condition. It has a single handle which is intact, uncreased and very secure and a nice feature is that it folds down which makes it very easy to store. It has a gilt, lizard covered top bar and frame and a gilt clasp matching the gilt end finials.The clasp is a very attractive feature of the front together with the pleat down the centre of the handbag.
The outside is in super condition with no marks or dings, just a lovely glossy sheen. Inside the handbag is a soft unmarked tan suede, with a zipped side pocket and two slip pockets.The label sewn into the bag reads Marquessa Made in England. Marquessa was a reputable maker of quality handbags, particularly lizard skins and those in excellent condition are quite sought after.
A lovely quality handbag, in great condition which would look equally at home, whether worn with casual or smart clothes and so easy to store if space is at a premium with the drop down handle.
