A gorgeous wallet, superb quality, completely unused in a rich tan smooth leather with a mottled design. The inside is totally charming. It has, embossed in gilt, the various pockets for D.Licence, AA card, Insurance certificate, RAC/AA key and car key. The wallet still has the care card and information cards. The charm of this wallet is the slip pocket for an RAC/AA box, from the days before widely available phone boxes or phones in houses and when mobile phones were still the stuff of sci fi movies. In the same vein the car key slip pocket is unlikely to be large enough for the current all singing, all dancing car keys which unlock the car, the boot, the alarm, make the tea...unless you have the new card key! In pristine condition, the only evidence it wasn't made last week is the slight foxing to the information cards. We don't know much about the company that made it but we know that one of their catalogues from 1933 is in a museum in Australia and there were still catalogues of their range of goods in 1961.
A superb wallet, in high quality leather made in England. It is an eminently useful and useable item but the foremost aspect is the charm and individuality of this wallet, it is quite lovely and definitely not something that can be found easily in this condition, or something that can be bought on the high street.
